Cast is a loose ‘ungroup’ for like-minded individuals who are supporting Brighton and Sussex businesses. We’re talking practising business, management and organisational consultants, business coaches, business advisors etc. The main qualification is that you consult or coach local business managers around business, management, leadership or organisational issues.
We’re not trying to exclude others – but we also understand the need for focus. So currently we are inviting those above to attend – but not life coaches, or consultants with specialities in other areas, such as recruitment, marketing or IT or HR.
The need Cast is trying to address is a simple one. For many of the people we’re talking about above, life is a strange mix of independent working amongst teams of others and a not insubstantial amount of work from home offices and kitchen tables. It’s not necessarily lonely, but you sometimes have to muster a lot of internal resources without the support of others to keep you going.
Cast is all about getting better at helping the business community we’re all so passionate about supporting and growing, by spending a little time on growing and supporting ourselves.
So what do all the fine words above mean? To be frank: whatever you want them to mean.
All Cast aims to do is to bring together business support people who agree with a common set of principles/values. When they come together, they decide what they need, and how to get it.
This means just one simple fixed structure: a monthly meeting, at the same venue every month. At the first few meetings, the simple facilitation tool of small workgroups has been used to see what people wanted to talk about, get help on and take value from. And we’re taking it from there.
